Weekend Plans

Lately I have been very selfish with my weekends, saving every scrap for creating...alone...but this weekend we will drive all night to Las Vegas. I have never been there, and have no interest but my niece is getting married there so here we go ( if the rest of the family would all assemble ) the car is wired for entertainment...insert sound of husband swearing...animal arrangements have been made and all I need to do is hem the dress I will be wearing to the 10 minute ceremony. It requires the help of "another girl" that is what my husband said when I asked him to pin. If you want to see the wedding, at 4:00 pm pacific time on sunday the 29th, you can log on to the MGM Grand website and they play the weddings live...jeez....if I had known this earlier ...oh well. The youngest of my children is choosing not to go...so keep an eye on him ...please...I am taking creative stuff to do in the van...will post the results upon return..have a wonderful weekend everybody ..Ginger

6 pounds of love!! Posted by Hello

her name is saranade...sara for short and while I have always had dogs in my life none of them has meant this much!! Posted by Hello

look I am not the last one anymore!!

What a thrill to log on tonight and find so many folks coming up fast behind me to join the ring. I have enjoyed reading postcards from cairo but hadn't " met " the other new flowers in the garland. I will catch up and read those.( I went first to the blog that mentioned poodle.) And will post some " adorable " photos of mine. I always was the most comfortable dealing with the world with a baby on my hip and find that this loving little mop helps fill the void of the hipriders heading off into the world on their own, So...welcome to the mew ring members i am sure we will enjoy you and your art.

my friend Neusa from brasil sent these wonderful ATC's to me although they took forever to get here they were worth the wait...don't you think? also a message to my daughter on the package that I can't read but I think says " why don't you write?" my daughter stayed with Neusa for a few months while she studied harp at a university in Brasil. You can see the other art she creates at her website here http://geocities.yahoo.com.br/neusacunha/ Posted by Hello

A WORK IN PROGRESS Posted by Hello
I was sorting through the piles ( that I rotate from work top to ironing board to chair etc. ) and these fabrics wanted to live together. but just the piecing was too scary...the gingham was too much so this mornings dream pictures said add a stream running through so I have started that but...still seems not right so I tried to add some foiling but I am unhappy with that...hum

I belong to a sub group of MEOW machine embroiderers of Oregon and Washington. This group, called "multi-media cats", spent time creating altered bras. This is my version, that I confess to not being very interested in doing. It is a quote from Pablo Picasso " I begin with an idea then it becomes something else."  Posted by Hello

mother's day art

I am not a big fan of mother's day as it feels imposed on me both as a daughter and a mother.....I go along though....I have a wonderful Mom who inspires my art...I have 4 wonderful kids who admire my art...today I heard from or saw 3 of them ...not sure where or how the oldest is ...he is 25 and has always caused the most worry...he has a genius IQ but that has not helped him make good life choices so far....my 23 year old called to say he loves me and that is rare for him to actually say...we attended brunch at a restaurant where my 21 year old daughter had been hired to play her harp ...and my youngest son 18 roused himself from a short nights sleep ( prom was last night ) to eat with us, he has joined the marines and will leave us soon for that adventure so all time with him is more precious now...we should treat all those we love as if they will leave us soon really...anyway I am uploading pictures of a jacket that I created as a requirement for a sermon at the end of a 3 year lay ministry training program ...I really struuggled with the assigned text but eventually it was made clear...we don't just create babies......
